Hello,

I'm a lifelong deadhead and am finally getting around to learning how to download and use an iPod. I have 1000+ shows on maxwell audio tapes but I'm tired of being a dinosaur. I'm fairly knowledgeable about computers and downloading in general but I'm ready to throw my pc out the window after 3 days of unsuccessful downloading. I have iTunes on my pc and the few shows I have been able to download, I can't make appear in the Library section of my music, which means I can't put them on my iPod. I think I have the software to download .shn and .flac files but I can't seem to get any of those to work either. I've tried downloading from etree and sugarmegs and nothing's working. I swear, my patience's about shot and if it weren't for missing Jerry's riffs I'd give up on this altogether. Anybody interested in helping out an absolute rookie? Many kind returns...

First put the files on your hard drive.

In ITunes:
Select the files you want in ITunes, and drag them in the Library. Once they are in select all of them and rt click>convert to AAC. Then delete the Shn/Flac files (From ITunes), they will take up way too much space on your IPOD.

Once converted to AAC (mp4) they will be in the Itunes music folder. You can then delete the Shn/Flac files off you computer, assuming you have them backed up on DVD.
