for trades try to use Fujis or Fuji film, and most people dont mind anything made in Japan. a lot of people dont like if you send maxell, memorex, imation, etc.
for burning for yourself from your cpu, i like memorexes and Fujis

I use Sony, but I hate that there isn't lines to write info on.

RIGHT! Lines are restrictive though. instead of writing things...draw pictures! Draw monkeys and things. A good monkey brightens up any CD.

Anything Japanese, from what I understand there are only a few places worldwide that produce blanks.

I use fuji's. I have never had a problem with them in my burner and you can usually get decent deals on them.

Hey everyone,
I've been looking to buy some quality CDR's here in Dublin, but I've only been able to find TDK(yikes) and Phillips. These are not for me cause I don't have a computer or burner, they are for the kind folks that have been sending me shows. Any thoughts on Phillips? Are they acceptable?

So many people are choosy about the brands but I've never had any problem with any brand name discs. Fuji, Maxell, TDK, Philips, Imation, Sony, Memorex (at least they use silver now, not that crappy white face) are all ok. Some people I know swear by and only use Mitsui's but they are more expensive and you are less likely to find deals.

Thanks for that info lastfairdeal, I think I'll just go ahead with the Philips, have visted so many shops and the selection is so limited. Hope fully it's the thought that counts! Dublin ain't no shoppin mecca!

Folks,
Just because it says Fuji, does not mean it is japaneese Taiyo Yuden disks. There are ALOT of Fuji disks being made in (SHUDDER!) Taiwan
Caveat Emptor!
I only purchase Taiyo's.

There is a great mail in rebate deal on bestbuy.com for fuji film CD-R. It comes out to be like 10 bucks for 100 after the mail in rebate. Most everyone takes fuji film.
